Top Ten Tuesday!

Totally forgot it was Tuesday! :) Last week I wanted to do this…but somehow Tuesday got away from me. I want to do a Top Ten Tuesday. I will list some random top tens…just for fun! :)

Since it’s my first one…I think I will start with the top ten things I am thankful for!

1. My God who loves me unconditionally, died for me, and rose again so that I can have NEW life!

2. My amazing, caring, understanding, HOT, hardworking husband, Stephen!

3. The little guy we call Riley-bug :) No matter what, I look at him and I smile. He is amazing. (Like this morning after he nursed…he stood up in my bed, grabbed a pillow and threw it at me! Pillow fights have been our new favorite thing! :) )

4. My family who is ALWAYS there for me. I don’t know what I’d do without them.

5. Food! I love it. I love cooking it, baking it, and eating it!

6. Beaches…and the whole beach atmosphere.

7. Vacations. I am a huge fan! I always want to feel like I’m on vacation! That’s why I want to design my room like a hotel room :)

8. Cameras. Without them…so many things would go unnoticed and unremembered.

9. Ice cream. Especially natural vanilla! (and I’m going to throw milk in with that. I pour milk over my ice cream and without it, it would be incomplete!)

10. LOST. That’s all I can say.

so Cape Coral is winning back my heart {slowly}

To me, Cape Coral is an ugly city. I can say that, because I have lived here pretty much my entire life (minus the 2 1/2 years we lived in Tampa). I really noticed it after we moved to Tampa. More specifically Westchase, which is absolutely gorgeous! Coming back to Cape Coral made me realize how boring it is visually. There are fields and houses. That’s pretty much it. However, they are really taking a step towards beautifying the city and making wonderful improvements. I am in love with all the renovations they are doing to the Kismet/Del Prado area! There is one particular corner that reminds us so much of Tampa. It’s not much…just some nice condos and a Publix Shopping Center…but it’s nice. Beautiful green grass, winding sidewalks…that’s all I ask for. Not too much. (I secretly get bummed every time I drive through that area because we made an offer on a house right by there, but our offer was rejected! I know that it worked out the way it did for a reason and I don’t want to have any regrets in life…but that would have been nice to live in such a developing area!)  One thing that really bothered me about the Cape is the lack of sidewalks. But they are making improvements throughout. We get so excited when we are driving down the street and we see construction! Construction used to always bother the junk out of me…but now…it just lets me know that they are improving!!  It’s funny that if I make a conscious effort, I can literally see Cape Coral differently. Say I’m driving down the road and I look around, if I envision myself being in a different place, some other tropical place, say Key West just for example, Cape Coral can totally be that place! I love that there are palm trees all over the place. It adds so much beauty!  Only in certain areas, of course. Like this morning I had to run out to take a few pics for my job, and I stopped to get gas at the Mobil Station off Santa Barbara. As I was sitting there waiting…I was looking around and thought, “This really is a beautiful place!” There were palm trees and other greenery all around, nice new buildings, and it was right before sunrise, which is my second favorite time of the day. The longer and harder I look, Cape Coral is and will be even more a very beautiful place. I guess that they had vision when they made the statement, “Cape Coral – it’s just Paradise”! I’m slowly realizing that that just may be true! :)  For this time and place in my life…I’m glad we live here! :)

oh Lost…

Just finished Lost. Brought tears to my eyes. That’s all I’m saying…

a successful day.

So today was very successful one :) Stephen had the whole day off again (woohoo!) so we took advantage of Riley’s naptime! I decided I wanted to try my hand at cutting the grass. Haven’t done that since high school! It was nice. I definitely got a sunburn but that is okay. It’s nice to feel the color! :) While I was busy doing that, Stephen and my step-dad tore ALL of the landscaping in front of our house up and got rid of the majority of rocks. We wanted to start from scratch and design our “garden” area the way we like :) It will be fun to pick out the plants and flowers and all the stuff that goes with that!

Oh yeah! side note: we hung up our new Target wall cabinet last night and it looks wonderful!! I went and bought a cute little basket for it today and it is perfect! I am very excited about it! I also ripped out the old medicine cabinet so we’ll have to get that patched up someday soon.

Here it is! :)

Back to today… After we were done outside my mom stayed with Riley and Stephen and I went up to Lowe’s to get the blinds for our guest room but sadly the blind cutting machine was broken! :( It’s exciting to be able to cross things off our to-do list…so when something gets postponed it’s frustrating! But, we’ll just go tomorrow and get them. No biggie! We also are going to get new screen so we can re-screen our back porch. There are so many rips and holes in it! And, whenever we go outside to enjoy the porch we always have to worry about Spicey sneaking out! So, we are excited to get that checked off as well.

Well, I would love to write more but it is that time! LOST time!

Until later! :)

trip to target.

So me and the little guy went to Target this morning to finally buy a wall cabinet for our bathroom! I found one that I love…well, close enough :) If I could combine the glass doors of this one with the cute little basket shelves on the one at Lowes…that would be perfection! But, this one is definitely near perfection. I have been keeping my eye on it for a while, but just couldn’t find myself to pay over $80 for it. Well, the Target ad this week brought me much excitement when I saw it was on sale for $70 :) Such a better price! haha.

I suppose I might be able to find some cute little baskets small enough to fit on the bottom shelf. If not, no biggie. I still love the way it looks! I actually just put it together and am waiting for my step-dad to come help me hang it. It is very very heavy, and if I attempted to do it on my own it would probably come crashing down during the process. It is pretty heavy. I did also score two Nivea body washes for FREE! They seem very luxurious and I can’t wait to try them! One is Touch of Radiance with massaging beads and lime blossom scent and the other is Touch of Sparkle with diamond powder and white calla blossom scent. They were on sale for $3.99 each and I had two $4/1 coupons! Gotta love free stuff :)

OH YEAH…not sure how I didn’t mention this yet…but I am currently typing my thoughts on our brand new iMac!! Finally! It is absolutely wonderful, and I can’t stop playing on it! We got the 21.5″ screen which is ginormous! It came with the awesome wireless keyboard and magic mouse!  Love the new Snow Leopard operating system! Oh yeah…and a built in camera! Riley and I have already spent so much time taking goofy pictures of ourselves! This is such an upgrade from our Powerbook that literally had 1,000 lines running across the screen. That computer served us well, but it was time to move on! and…I am so glad that we did! Stephen works a lot on the computer for work…so to be able to actually see what he’s doing and be able to do so much more…I’m so happy for him!

Well, that is all I really have to say right now!
